Share the empty space on a truck that is already heading your way and pay by cubic metre.
Trucks that carry a full load from Sydney to Melbourne do not want to drive home empty. A backload fills that space. You pay for the cubic metres you use plus the handling at each end, and you accept the truck's schedule rather than setting your own.
It is the cheapest honest way to move interstate, and the trade off is timing. Departures run on set days, the transit window is a range rather than a date, and your goods may be loaded behind someone else's, which changes the order things come off.

Per cubic metre pricing
You are quoted a rate per m3 with a minimum volume, usually 8 to 10 m3. Under the minimum, a shared linehaul consignment is normally cheaper.
Fixed departure days
Sydney runs depart Monday and Thursday, Brisbane Tuesday and Friday, Adelaide Wednesday and Saturday, Perth every second Friday.
Blanket wrap and load bars
Backloaded goods are blanket wrapped and secured behind load bars, separated from the other consignment on the truck.
Same inventory discipline
Numbered labels and a signed inventory at both ends. Shared truck does not mean shared paperwork.

All questions and answersIn our sample pricing a 2 bedroom load to Sydney is around $3,900 on a dedicated truck and $2,300 to $2,900 as a backload. The saving comes from sharing the linehaul cost, so it grows with distance.
Tell us as early as you can and we move you to the next departure on that corridor. A date change inside 48 hours of uplift usually means waiting for the following run.
