Two of the tightest suburbs we work in, and two of the most predictable. Single fronted terraces with a 900 mm hallway, a staircase that turns at the top, and a rear laneway that a 4.5 tonne truck can just about manage if the wheelie bins are in.
February and July are student season around the university. We run a lot of one room moves between share houses in those weeks and book them in half day blocks to keep the price down.

Narrow hallways
A 900 mm hallway will not take a three seat sofa with the feet on. We take the feet off and carry it on its end.
Bluestone laneways
Fine for the small truck in the dry. After rain we work off the street and carry.
City of Melbourne permits
Temporary parking bays on Carlton streets need five business days notice and cost roughly $60 to $120 per bay per day.
